I’ve noted earlier that the Church as a whole has relegated the Old Testament as history only and prophetic only in the places they assign. This has caused them to misinterpret the book of Revelation. Most of their emphasis is on the rapture, the antichrist and the tribulation period on earth. One of the problems with this idea is that the man who biblically coins the phrase in an earlier epistle, the apostle John, never uses that word in the book of Revelation.
I’ll make today’s writing brief, in part because I’ve had such a hard time getting all the way through a writing on this platform lately. In my opinion, based on what I believe is a revelation from God on this topic, but also decades of study on the subject, that the book of Revelation is primarily about the future history of the church (see the following the cup series), the hierarchy of the kingdom of heaven, the mechanisms that God puts in place to change the nature of eternal punishment and how that punishment changes through those mechanisms. (See the following the sun/goat series.) Mechanisms that God has alluded to in parable form in the law and the prophets. Connecting those symbols across the breadth of the Bible is what allows you to see this process play out in the book of Revelation.
