I often wonder why it seems that I’m sped up or slowed down in delivering what I believe is my mandate from God. Today is not one of those days. This writing was going to be my next writing in this series anyway, but today I read an article online about a famous person speaking at what is at least perceived to be a Christian event.
At this event, she spoke of going to a “past lives regression therapist.” I’m not sure how one gets qualified for such a title, but obviously they are committed to the idea of reincarnation. The experience she described sounded like she had been hypnotized and received a “vision” of a past life.
Reincarnation ultimately can only be considered hearsay. What I mean is that one may assert such a past life, but there can be no corroborating witness. It doesn’t really matter the number of people who may assert such a thing, their individual reincarnation can only be witnessed by them. Most likely, the celebrity mentioned had such a past life memory implanted by this “therapist.” You must believe that reincarnation exists before things like that can even be counted as some sort of evidence. You can come to the conclusion that Jesus rose from the dead without believing that it happened first, as many that have so inquired have done.
The discovery and existence of DNA is truly a wonder. If you consider DNA as the blueprint for every biological entity, then you come to the realization that it is a blueprint that can actually build the house. One of the traits that come from the existence of DNA is family resemblance. “Oh, you look just like your grandfather,” or “you act just like your grandmother.” This familial resemblance is the most likely beginning of the concept of reincarnation. But ultimately, reincarnation is an unprovable concept.
