Biblical teaching

Law, justice, governance and the Millennial Reign: Does truth matter to anyone?

Probably the most vexing part of living in this age for me is how many people are willing to say and believe provable lies. In this particular series of writings it’s been hard to know when to pivot to different areas contributing to the same problems. In my mind, all false worldviews have or will have a fatal flaw, something that can’t really be changed and forever labels it as false. As I move into this next phase, I will be reprinting in their entirety some parables that I use to illustrate those issues.

Today’s writing however if for those who claim to speak for Christ. The first one I would address is the current Pope putting a Muslim prayer room in the Vatican. Any religious scholar of this age should understand the ramifications of such a move and know what that means to the Muslims: surrender. But worse than that in my view is you have further clouded the message of truth with cognitive dissonance. You can’t accept the notion that Jesus was crucified while supporting a worldview that says that he wasn’t. How is a human being supposed to process diametrically opposed views existing as if both could be true?

Another group of denominations that call themselves Christian are telling transgenders that they are “holy”. This is clearly not in line with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Not simply because they are transgender, but that the Bible teaches that no one is holy but God. One of the great beauties of the Gospel is in its simplicity, so to say something that unscriptural description puts their doctrine outside of biblical authority.

One of the pieces of advice that comes in a tract I’ve been using for years is for the new believer to seek a Bible believing church. But how is someone who never read the Bible before know who those churches are? I mean, the church I went to for the past twenty five years I thought was a Bible believing church and when I pressed them on this to follow biblical prescriptions, they didn’t.

Why would someone who is holy need to repent? And make no mistake, “Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.” Hebrews 12:14. How can they already be holy and if they are, why would they need Christ? Just bad theology.

So let’s be clear about what the Gospel is: All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23); the wages of sin are death (Romans 6:23); the free gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23); if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart God raised him from the dead , you will be saved (Romans 10:9). A changed life is the result because it’s by our fruits we are known to be that new creation.

To compound matters further, and I’m not sure if it was direct quote or just the implication, that God makes mistakes in assigning gender, but man can fix it. Gods not the savior, man is, is what they are saying. I can’t think of a more unbiblical or arrogant statement.
