Biblical teaching

Following the sun and the goat through the Bible: Why Satan usurps the goat symbol and how it affects the timing of the appearance of the Antichrist.

As I have been writing all along, the goat and the sun symbol are the same person, with the goat showing his earthly persona and the sun showing his heavenly persona. I have been saying that this person is the Elijah/ Michael character that are prophesied to come before the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ to institute his millennial reign on earth. I’ll summarize more when I wrap this series up in the next few writings.

So if Michael is this character, biblically speaking, why do we see statues and other depictions of Satan as the goat? Why does he take this symbol? I think what it means is that he intends to imitate Michael, not Christ and not before the millennial reign, but near its end! You see, trying to imitate Jesus would be no simple task, but trying to imitate the Angel of the LORD for a brief time might be possible, given his history of dealing widespread death in a short period of time.

When you see things in the Old Testament about people bowing to the sun, moon and stars, I believe this may be prophesying a cult of worshippers of the saints and the two witnesses at the beginning of the age. And this is all happening with the devil in the abyss during this age. I think this is also why the angel warns the apostle not to worship him but God in the book of Revelation. Ezekiel 8:16-18 reads,
“He then brought me into the inner court of the house of the LORD, and there at the entrance to the temple, between the portico and the altar, were about twenty-five men. With their backs toward the temple of the LORD and their faces toward the east, they were bowing down to the sun in the east.
He said to me, “Have you seen this, son of man? Is it a trivial matter for the people of Judah to do the detestable things they are doing here? Must they also fill the land with violence and continually arouse my anger? Look at them putting the branch to their nose! Therefore I will deal with them in anger; I will not look on them with pity or spare them. Although they shout in my ears, I will not listen to them.””

The branch is the living Christ who they “put to their nose.” In other words, he is so close they could actually touch him, but they choose to hide their idolatry for Michael (the sun symbol) in their hearts. When Satan is then released from the abyss at the end of the thousand years, he deceives those people into thinking he is Michael and has come to “put an end to the Lord Jesus Christ’s reign of tyranny.” If during our time there are people who think that the world is overpopulated, what must they be thinking near the end of the millennial reign when things like abortion, war, and premature death are abolished for a thousand years?

In any case, he convinces those idolaters to rebel and attack Christ. And where is Michael in all this? I think he is the angel of the church of Smyrna who would not be harmed at all by the second death. He is the one protecting those in the lake of fire. And now is his time to “empty the censer” as it were, on creation. This is the creation destroying act that the Apostle Peter wrote about. It is the fire from heaven of Elijah. God violates the first law of thermodynamics by creating out of nothing and his angel violates the second law of thermodynamics by destroying that creation, making room for the new heaven and earth prophesied in Revelation 21:1.
