In the last writing I discussed the nature of the four angels being commanded by Michael and that the descent of the angel is what is happening in the first four trumpets with their accompanying effects. This would seem to be confirmed in the fifth trumpet in Revelation 9:1-4:

“The fifth angel sounded his trumpet, and I saw a star that had fallen from the sky to the earth. The star was given the key to the shaft of the Abyss. When he opened the Abyss, smoke rose from it like the smoke from a gigantic furnace. The sun and sky were darkened by the smoke from the Abyss. And out of the smoke locusts came down on the earth and were given power like that of scorpions of the earth. They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any plant or tree, but only those people who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads.”

The command given is the same and the one giving the command is most likely the same as the angel from the “”place of the rising sun” in Revelation 7 & 8. He is given a key to the abyss which houses fallen angels and has apparent command over them. They are allowed to torture but not kill the unsealed, that is, those without the Holy Spirit, for five months.

At the end of those five months, the sixth trumpet sounds and a third of the population are wiped out during the time of the trumpets. So what is it that is happening during this time? I think the clue lies in a couple of places. Revelation 9:6 says, “During those days people will seek death but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them.” Earlier, in Revelation 6 at the sixth seal, they too were longing for death. Why?

If the reality of Jesus coming back has finally dawned on them in the sixth seal, how would death help them when it is known that Christ will judge the living and the dead? What is it they are hoping to avoid? I think it may be the prospect of the lake of fire. Here’s why I say that. I think the amount of time from the sixth seal to the opening of the abyss at the fifth trumpet may only be a matter of days. There appears to be a lag of five months between the fifth and sixth trumpet. It also appears that Michael hands off authority to the four angels, the four living creatures. After that time, a more detailed explanation will most likely be offered during the time the two witnesses begin their ministry, Michael being one, symbolized by the sun and the other, so far unnamed, symbolized by the moon.

During this time, despite all that is going on and the message being sent, the gift of repentance is being withheld. And know that it is a gift of God as is said in Ephesians 2:8-9, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith —and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.” Again, we must ask, “Why?”

I live in a reprehensible age where human life is treated with disdain. No greater example is there than the practice of abortion. The very definition of attacking the defenseless.

The DNA of the child is not that of the mother, therefore not her body and therefore not her choice. The DNA is that of a human, therefore afforded all the natural rights given. Only living or once living things have DNA. Therefore, alive. Rape or incest? You can’t punish the child for the crimes of the father, therefore violates due process. There is no moral, scientific or judicial justification for the practice. It is clearly a slaughter of the innocent no different from child sacrifices in the past. And look where all of those societies ended up.

The day of repentance needs to be now. Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and renounce shameful ways while you still can. When the door shuts, it shuts for good for some. Please don’t be one of them.
